I had the pleasure of contracting Andy Soutiere and his company Overall Home Improvements to remodel and renovate a bathroom in the fall of 2011. The project included window replacement, floor, drywall, ceramic tile, sink, toilet, ceiling, bathtub, lighting, fixtures and paint. The project took 2 weeks to complete and involved an electrician and Andy’s work crew.
My “overall” experience was a pleasure from beginning to finished project. Andy’s team was reliable and respectful. They were focused on doing the job right. They tidied up at the end of each workday and I felt comfortable with them having access to my home.
Andy kept me up-to-date, with materials to be selected and we discussed the various phases of construction. Communication was clear and any calls were returned promptly. (I would consider this skillset to be one of Andy’s strengths as a contractor.) The quality of his work was consistently excellent. They followed my project requests, and the finished project hasn’t required correction or revision upon completion.
I was impressed with Andy’s commitment to producing a quality product. He worked skillfully and creatively (e.g., preserving an architecturally curved ceiling detail, period to the century-old house).
I’d be very happy to hire Overall Home Improvements again, or to recommend him to my friends, neighbours and family.
We originally hired Andy (of Overall Improvements) to do a small repair. Andy not only did that repair expertly, but repaired some other areas in the house. How lucky we were to find him! … Because of his reliability and expertise, we hired him to do some renovations we had … delayed …for several years … because we were unsure about whom to hire.
Andy is a jewel! He totally renovated our powder room and installed new counter-tops and flooring in the kitchen. Most impressive was his willingness to bring samples of paint, tiles, and flooring to save us trekking about. Andy also made some (design) suggestions that, in the case of the powder room, enhanced and enlarged the limited space.
He is not only multi-skilled, but he is totally reliable! He arrives when he promises; he never once failed to meet our expectations; in fact he surpasses them! … When the work was completed, the cost was exactly that of the estimate. We certainly will hire him for any further renovations we may need.
